Corps of Cadets Mandates Eyepatch In Solidarity With Highest Ranking Member
The Corps of Cadets is modifying their uniform for the first time in almost two decades.
After mascot Reveille X, the First Lady of Aggieland and highest ranking member of the Corps of Cadets, had her eye removed due to a disease, the Corps is mandating all Cadets wear an eyepatch in solidarity .
“Modifying our uniform is not a decision we take lightly,” said Commandant James W. Bierman Jr.. “But this is the least we can do. The Corps is one body. We operate in unity. We are the Keepers of the Spirit and we take that role very seriously.”
All Cadets, regardless of class year or squadron, will be required to incorporate an eyepatch starting in the Fall of 2025.
Similar to other aspects of the uniform, class years will have distinction. Seniors will be able to wear leather patches with insignia to match their boots. Holick’s, creator and manufacturer of the iconic senior boot, has already opened orders for patches.

A living testament to the fact that the pen is mightier than the sword. We once saw him stab a dude with a pen. There was blood and ink everywhere. It was awesome. He never gets his articles turned in on time though, so some wonder why we keep him around. Did we mention he once stabbed a dude with a pen?
