Campus Chick-Fil-A Kiosks To Be Converted Into Polling Booths

Amidst backlash from students surrounding the lack of on-campus voting locations for the upcoming presidential election, Brazos County election officials have announced that the Chick-Fil-A order kiosks across campus will be converted into polling booths by the start of November.

”This will be a monumental move for election efficiency and student satisfaction with the voting process,” Catherine Teller, a worker in the Elections Administration Office for the county, said. “To be honest, though, I don’t understand why people were still complaining after we gave them free hour-long bus rides to the city hall during the midterms.”

Unfortunately, members of the LGBTQ+ community in the Bryan-College Station area may have to travel elsewhere to participate in this monumental election. During contract negotiations for the renovation, Chick-Fil-A management instituted a clause saying that students will have to submit photographic proof of heterosexuality in order to gain entry to the polling line.

While many conservative Christians are celebrating this transition, several students are concerned that the already-lengthy lines at these restaurants will only get longer with the removal of the order kiosks. Among the skeptics is biology freshman Carson Owens, whose schedule is stuffed with 20-minute class changes.

“I’ve already been late to class four times this semester because I was waiting for my spicy chicken sandwich,” Owens said. “Once they take away our kiosks, these Chick-Fil-A lines are going to force me to Q-drop CHEM 119.”

In an effort to maintain cohesive theming, all new additions to the campus Chick-Fil-A lobbies will be decorated in the restaurant’s signature style. For instance, the dividers between each kiosk will have life-sized images of the company’s beloved cows telling voters to “Cast Mor Ballots.”
