House Towed While Residents Away
This weekend a house was reportedly towed away from its location in the College Station neighborhood of Southwood. The house had been in place since the 1980s, when the neighborhood was developed, and was located on the side of a road that indicated a “No Parking Any Time – Tow Away” zone.
The Mugdown reached out to the residents to learn more about the incident.
“Me and my friends walked to the football game because we were scared of our cars getting towed, but we returned to an empty plot of land to find our house gone!” said tenant Sarah Parkless.
Parkless and her roommates received an email from the G. Reedy Towing Company. The email claimed responsibility for the removal of the house, citing the house’s improper parking in a tow-away zone and failure to register with the towing company as justification for its removal. The residents were charged a $480 fee for the return of their home.
The Mugdown contacted the G. Reedy Towing Company for comment.
“I broke the record for most student cars towed in a semester last spring. When you’re at the top, everyone wants to take you down, so I had to innovate. House towing is gonna change the game!” said operator Hugh Jerkins.
Residents with houses in towing areas are advised to pray to God they don’t find you.
