Bike Left Outside Zachry Since December Now Considered Historical Landmark
A bicycle parked outside Zachry Engineering Education Complex since December has officially been designated a “site of historical significance” by the Texas A&M University Board of Regents.
The bike, which has not moved despite multiple severe weather events, career fairs, finals and at least one very public ETAM-related emotional breakdown, has become a symbol of resilience.
“I’ve seen it every day this semester,” said one engineering student. “At this point, it’s kind of reassuring. Like… if the bike is still here, maybe I’ll be okay too.”
University officials declined to comment on whether or not the bike has been officially acquired by the university but confirmed it has been included in at least three campus tours.
According to students, the bike has become a common reference point.
“We don’t even say ‘meet outside Zachry’ anymore,” said one sophomore. “We just say ‘by the bike’, and everyone knows where to go.”
Facilities management has reportedly avoided removing it out of respect.
“At this point, it would feel wrong,” said one employee. “Like tearing down a piece of history.”
Recently spotted was a slightly rusted scooter nearby reportedly “gaining traction” as a potential companion piece, though insiders say it lacks the bike’s “quiet authority and emotional depth.”
— MS Pick Me

Yes, you’ve seen her. No, you don’t know her, but she definitely knows you. You can find MS Pick Me strategically positioning herself at the prime table spot in every coffee shop in College Station, rotating between them every 30 minutes to ensure seeing as many of her friends as possible. Yes, she is wearing head to toe Daily Drills and drives a baby blue Ford Bronco, but she is so incredibly humble about it! MS Pick Me is notorious for repeating the phrase “to piggyback off what the Professor said…” and mentioning her next meeting she has to run to when you never asked. She camps out in the MSC not to study, but to be seen studying, preferably within earshot of at least three different org members and one professor she can wave to. If life had participation trophies, MS Pick Me would have all of them.
