‘Oops, I Was Off My Meds!’ Says Girl Who Really Wanted To Try Drunk Driving

A drunk driver caused a fatal collision on Wellborn Road last weekend.

Police identified Texas A&M freshman Katie Miller driving northbound in a southbound lane when she collided with Bryan resident 68-year-old Daniel Ellsworth at 12:28 a.m. Saturday night. Ellsworth was pronounced dead soon after being airlifted to a hospital.

“I said I was sorry, damn,” Miller told authorities during questioning. “I stopped taking my antidepressants this week because my best friend Kayla was turning 21 and I reeeeeeeally wanted to be drunk. My other best friend Jenna was there and we did a bunch of shots.”

At the scene, Miller blew a whopping 0.34% breathalyzer and failed the reliable “walk in a straight line” test.

“It’s not her fault, she said she was good to drive home,” Jenna “Best Friend” Davis said to authorities Sunday morning. “She looked totally fine after she threw up and I made her drink water after the 5th and 8th shot we did.”

Eager to get the story straight, the College Station police department confirmed several facts, including a severe depression and Borderline Personality Disorder diagnoses — for which Miller is currently prescribed medications — as well as a general timeline of events.

Police have notified the family of the deceased and are working to file an Intoxication Manslaughter charge against Miller.
