Mysterious New “JFB” Fee Appears on Spring Tuition Bill

As students register for the spring semester, some are reporting an odd new fee present on their tuition statements labeled only as “JFB”. This fee for a whopping $150 per semester has no clear purpose or rationale, so it’s drawing the attention of curious undergraduates with enough student debt as is.

“I pay for so many things I’ve never used,” sophomore chemistry major Christa Lawson said. “I’ve never used the university health center, ridden an Aggie Spirit bus, or exercised at the rec center, and yet I still pay my fair share for all of them. When large new fees are added to my tuition with no clear reason, it strains the trust I have in our leaders.”

Texas A&M has been coy about this latest fee only describing it as an important and necessary expense to allow Texas A&M to reach its full potential. This description was unsatisfying leaving students wondering what new fees will come next.

“I love this university and all its improvements over the years, from the Zachry renovations to the new NASA campus,” senior kinesiology major, Urie Leatham, said. “As Scholarships and Financial Aid received record requests, our beloved college has never led us astray, and I’m confident they’ll not start now.”

At the time of this controversy, a fleet of U-Haul trucks were seen next to Kyle Field’s administrative offices, though no direct connection to this new fee could be made.
