Comfort Colors Addict Joins Any Organization With Free T-Shirts
Sophomore economics major Rupon James has found his place on campus through a variety of organizations, or more accurately, found places on campus that bring with them the promise of a free Comfort Colors T-shirt. James is currently involved with the Aggie Eco Rangers, the Cupcake Club, three FLOs, a Catholic ministry at St. Marys, Corp outfit Squadron 17, and 42 other assorted groups.
“I’m not Catholic or in the Corp, and I don’t really have interest in what either group does,” James said. “But the designs on their organization’s shirts are fantastic. I need to add them to my collection.”
Design is only half of the allure for James as the comfortable feel and fit of a Comfort Colors T-shirt is a high not easily found elsewhere.
“There’s nothing like the soft embrace of a new Comfort Colors T-shirt right off the assembly line at C.C. Creations,” James said. “The shirts are so breathable and light for humid days, yet warm enough to still wear in the winter. I just can’t get enough of that new shirt feeling.”
According to James, much of the excitement is “The Chase” or the process of obtaining T-shirts. Something he claims to have down to a science.
“The key is to drop the club right before you get kicked out for not paying for your dues or merch order,” James said. “Sure, this sometimes leads to awkward encounters at HEB or in the MSC, but that’s a small price to pay to maintain the ultimate level of comfort.”
James is currently planning a T-shirt heist of professional organizations all around campus by feigning interest in a variety of careers and majors, with plans to jump ship once T-shirts are distributed.
— Batt for Both Teams & Pudding Out
A softball extraordinaire, Batt for Both Teams was an up-and-coming player of Texas A&M’s own. One fateful day after too little sleep under a too-bright sun, Batt for Both Teams stumbled from the outfield and into the batter’s box. She hit a home run that day, but for the wrong team. Now, neither of her partners will let her live it down. We just hope the sun doesn’t get too bright for her to write something for some other newspaper on campus… But that probably won’t happen… right?
