First Person in Ticket Pull Actually Just an Empty Sleeping Bag
In anticipation of the ticket pull for this week’s football game against the University of Alabama, one student left an empty tent and sleeping bag to save his place at the front of the line.
Many students spend hours, nights, and even weeks camping outside Kyle Field in order to pull tickets for the best possible seats for football games. Before games against rival schools, students will bring TVs, couches, snacks, and tents to Kyle Field.
One student, Ryan Teft, class of ‘24, was caught using an empty tent to save his place without having to suffer through the waiting. Thankfully, his mom had written his name and phone number on the inside flap so he was able to be tracked down back to his apartment at Park West.
“I take no responsibility,” Teft said. “This school encourages me to think outside the box and engineer lucrative opportunities for myself. That’s why I got into Mays on holistic review and you didn’t.”
Barrett Underwood, second in line behind Teft, was the one to discover the tent was empty.
“I wouldn’t have snitched, but it’s the Bama game, you know?” Underwood, a member of Kappa Sigma said. “For the Auburn ticket pull my buddy put a blonde wig on a borg and that worked for us—she got us first deck—but we wouldn’t try that for the Bama game. Next time Ryan should think of something smarter like that.”
In response to the controversy, A&M staff will be designating the concrete in front of Kyle Field a “tent” parking lot to which they will be offering separate parking passes for students to purchase as a reminder that the homeless are strictly prohibited.
