Evans Library Installs Anti-Noise Alarms On Quiet Floors
In order to maintain a peaceful study space for students during finals season, Texas A&M University installed an alarm system to keep the designated quiet floors inside Evans Library silent. These new “silence alarms” have been placed strategically throughout the quiet floors of Evans Library and go off at any noise to alert disruptors.
Since their installation, the library has been filled with the shrill sounds of sirens at all hours of the day. Despite this, students have claimed a decrease in their productivity as well as an increase in caffeine consumption.
“This was the only space on campus quiet enough for me to take calls, what am I supposed to do now?” junior Anthony Meyers said. “I tried going into a study room so no one could hear me, but that alarm would not stop going off no matter how quiet my phone was.”
If the silence alarm at Evans Library is successful all other libraries are set to have their own installed in the next few weeks for upcoming finals.
—Elephant Whisk
One night a year, Elephant Whisk takes all of her pent-up rage out on unsuspecting seniors who are trying to relive their favorite memories of campus. If you ever plan on attending Elephant Walk, watch out for this writer lurking in the bushes along the way. She wields her roommate’s dirty, mold-ridden whisk as her weapon. Since conversations about how often the dishes need to be cleaned have proven useless, she has decided to take matters into her own hands the only way she knows how: searching for her roommate to prove just how harmful unclean dishes can be. If you’re part of the majority of Aggies currently asking themselves what the hell Elephant Walk even is, don’t worry about it, you’re safe.
